The Atlanta Hawks (18-37) lost their second straight at home to the Eastern Conference Southeast division leaders, Charlotte Hornets (27-28) 129-120.
After trailing by 15 early, Hawks made a push in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to five points. Charlotte took control of the game from that point and never looked back.
“If we were going to take the lead or keep the run going it would have been on the defensive end and we never did,” stated coach Lloyd Pierce.
All-Star guard Kemba Walker had 37 points in the contest while Trae Young recorded a double-double with 20 points and 11 assist for the Hawks.
Atlanta continues their home-stand against the Orlando Magic on Sunday.
