- It Was Redemption For Nathan Carter Despite Loss To Titans - August 16, 2025
Atlanta, Ga – During the preseason, you always want to win the game, but its more important for players to take advantage of their opportunities. A player who benefited from this maybe more than anyone else was rookie running back Nathan Carter.
Nathan Carter rushed for 63 yards on nine carries, including a 43-yard touchdown run in a loss to the Tennessee Titans. He was able to showcase his elusiveness and speed on that play.
More importantly, the night reflected his mental toughness and resiliency after the scary incident that happened last week that involved Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris Jr.
Carter was involved in the play by breaking a tackle of Norris that left him unresponsive. Norris was taken off the field in an ambulance and transported to the hospital.
“I contacted him on instagram, I wanted to send my condolences and prayers to him and make sure he was alright and well. He eventually got back to me.”
After finding out he was alright, Carter said he leaned on his faith was able to focus on football.
“I really feel at peace. I think the biggest thing with that is the fact that he was alright and was doing good,” Carter stated. “And also just to be able to understand that it was a football play. I was really honing in my faith and let it be my peace today.”
Carter is trying to make the 53-man roster for the Falcons. To be able to bounce back from the nearly catastrophic incident from last week and play well on Friday night, he’s put himself in a good position.
