Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will sign a five-year $228.2 million maximum contract extension.

The five-year deal includes an opt out after the fourth year. Antetokounmpo is headed in his eighth year, which all has been with the Milwaukee.

The two-time MVP had been undecided on his future with the Bucks. There were rumors that he was considering testing free agency this upcoming year.

“This is my home, this is my city”, Antetokounmpo tweeted out today.

In 2019-20, Antetokunmpo won his second MVP award in a row. He averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assist per game.

He was the third player to win MVP and win Defensive Player of the Year in the same season. That feat was only done by Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon.

The Bucks look to get to the NBA Finals this year after adding guard Jrue Holiday in the offseason.

“Let’s Make these years count”, says Antetokounmpo.
