NFL Power Rankings Week 6- The Brightened Spotlight

After what could only be described as a wild Week 5, we’ve made it to the first set of bye weeks. Teams can now start to mend their wounded and implement plans for the rest of the season.

The separation of the successful and the unsuccessful teams has started to materialize. Week 6 provides some great match-ups and a few must win games.

Hopefully it won’t be the mistake filled week, ripe with special team blunders we had last weekend.

1.) Arizona Cardinals (5-0)
DeAndre Hopkins had his best game in weeks with six catches for 87 yards and a touchdown. This was the first game the Cardinals didn’t score at least 30 points.

2.) Buffalo Bills (4-1)
Buffalo has staked their claim as the AFC’s best team. They have the No. 1 ranked defense in the NFL.

3.) Los Angeles Chargers (4-1)
The Chargers have won three games in a row, outscoring their opponents 105-80. They have a big showdown with the Ravens this weekend.

4.) Green Bay Packers (4-1)
Mason Crosby hit four field goals including the game winner in overtime. With the weekend follies in kicking, he seemed to be the only bright spot when it comes to kickers.

5.) Los Angeles Rams (4-1)
As disruptive as Aaron Donald is, he only has 3.0 sacks and five tackles for loss. Imagine if he hasn’t gotten warned up yet?

6.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1)
Antonio Brown continues to be the wide receiver tearing defenses up and it seems nobody is talking about him.

7.) Baltimore Ravens (4-1)
We could be watching the makings of the first 4,000 yards passing, 1,000 rushing season for a quarterback. Lamar Jackson has 1,519 passing yards and 341 rushing yards through five games.

8.) Dallas Cowboys (4-1)
The Cowboys are on a four games winning streak and the games aren’t even close. They are ranked second in points scored and total yards.

9.) Cleveland Browns (3-2)
The Browns have given up 10 touchdowns through the air so far this season. They still lead the league with 12 rushing touchdowns.

10.) Tennessee Titans (3-2)
Tennessee is tenth in points scored and total yards. They have a huge matchup against the Bills on Monday night.

11.) New Orleans Saints (3-2)
I can’t quite put my fingers on what the Saints are this season. They’re currently fourth in points allowed and they haven’t given up 30 points to any opponent this season.

12.) Chicago Bears (3-2)
The Bears have given up a total of 23 points in their last two games, both resulting in victories. They’ve only allowed one of their opponents to eclipse 100 yards rushing.

13.) Las Vegas Raiders (3-2)
Jon Gruden and the team have parted ways in a season where Las Vegas had big expectations. Special Teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia takes over for the remainder of the season.

14.) Cincinnati Bengals (3-2)
The Bengals have lost two games by a total of six points. They’re 1-1 in overtime games this, season.

15.) Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)
The Chiefs defense has given up points like their goal is for the other team to score more points than their offense.

16.) Carolina Panthers (3-2)
Sam Darnold has thrown five interceptions, while getting sacked eight times in his past two games. It resulted in Carolina’s first two losses of the season.

17.) Denver Broncos (3-2)
After a hot start, the Broncos have dropped two in a row to heightened competition. Their next two opponents are Las Vegas and Cleveland.

18.) San Francisco 49ers (2-3)
Trey Lance’s first start finished with him throwing for 192 yards and rushing for 89 yards. The bye week will give the team time to put some wrinkles in the offense that suits the young quarterback.

19.) Seattle Seahawks (2-3)
Seattle will have to go into the next couple of weeks with Geno Smith as their starting quarterback. All I have to say is good luck.

20.) The Washington Football Team (2-3)
Washington has upcoming games against a very hungry Chiefs team followed by the Packers.

21.) Pittsburgh Steelers (2-3)
The Steelers snapped a three-game losing streak by limiting their turnovers. They get a wounded Seahawks team next week.

22.) New England Patriots (2-3)
The Patriots are undefeated when they score 29 points or more this season. Their defense is ranked fifth in both points and total yards allowed.

23.) Minnesota Vikings (2-3)
The Vikings have won two out of their last three games, holding all three opponents under the 20-point mark.

24.) Philadelphia Eagles (2-3)
The Eagles have won both games in which they’ve allowed less than 300 yards of offense. Jalen Hurts leads the Eagles in rushing with 256 yards.

25.) Atlanta Falcons (2-3)
The Falcons picked fourth in the draft, but it seemed like they didn’t realize it for about four weeks. Kyle Pitts had nine catches for 119 yards and a touchdown last Sunday.

26.) Miami Dolphins (1-4)
Most expectations for the Dolphins having a winning season has dwindled to almost nothing. Their next two opponents are Jacksonville and Atlanta, let’s see if they have anything left in the tank.

27.) Indianapolis Colts (1-4)
Carson Wentz had his best game of the season with 402 passing yards but the team couldn’t pull the win out. Indianapolis is 1-2 when they score over 20 points.

28.) New York Giants (1-4)
The Giants can’t catch a break this season and the injury list is starting to grow.

29.) New York Jets (1-4)
The Jets went all the way to London to lose a game. The team has three wins in their last 21 contests.

30.) Houston Texans (1-4)
Houston gave up 16 points after halftime and dropped their fourth straight game at the hands of the Patriots. That win in Week 1 seems like it was so long ago.

31.) Detroit Lions (0-5)
Detroit has failed to score 20 points in four straight weeks. They have six turnovers in the same span.

32.) Jacksonville Jaguars (0-5)
Jacksonville hasn’t been good at any thing this season. Their main focus should be the development of Trevor Lawrence.
