NFL Power Rankings Week 11 – Filling In For The Favorites

This is the time in the NFL where depth will really come into play. Banged up players will start to pile up like a hill of dirty clothes in a teenager’s room. The teams that can simply plug in players will have an upper hand versus the rest of their NFL counterparts.

Injuries can derail a season or prove just how good of a team these franchises have.

 

1. Pittsburgh Steelers (9-0)
The Steelers have not lost a game this season and their next opponent is Jacksonville. So I guess them reaching 10-0 is not a far fetched thought at all.

2. Kansas City Chiefs (8-1)
The Chiefs’ defense has been underrated this season. They give up their fair share of yards, but they rank sixth in points allowed.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-3)
The Buccaneers have a season point differential of 70. They’ve defeated three opponents by 20 points or more and they’ve only lost one game by that margin.

4. New Orleans Saints (7-2)
The Saints have pushed their win streak to six games but the last victory has come with a heavy cost. Drew Brees has injured ribs and a collapsed lung and there’s no time table for his return to action.

5. Green Bay Packers (7-2)
The Packers have won three of their last four games after edging out Jacksonville on Sunday. Their last seven games isn’t exactly a “murderers row” of opponents.

6. Buffalo Bills (7-3)
Buffalo’s grip on the AFC East is loosening ever so slightly. A last minute loss to the Cardinals is not a great way to head into their bye week.

7. Arizona Cardinals (6-3)
DeAndre Hopkins has 67 receptions for 861 yards and is averaging 12.9 yards per reception. He made one of the most amazing catches you’ll ever see on Sunday, quite possibly the catch of the year.

8. Miami Dolphins (6-3)
Dolphin head coach Brian Flores preaches a week to week, game by game attitude. The Dolphins next three opponents are the Broncos, the New York Jets, and the Bengals. Week to week that looks pretty favorable for Miami.

9. Seattle Seahawks (6-3)
Seattle has given up way too many yards and a ton of points this season. They are starting to look like a team not built for the playoffs.

10. Baltimore Ravens (6-3)
The Ravens have the number one scoring defense in the NFL. Their rushing offense is stellar, but their passing offense leaves much to be desired.

11. Indianapolis Colts (6-3)
The Colts are now ranked first in yards allowed. They’ve now taken control of the AFC South and they’ll take on their closest opponent in the division again in week 12.

12. Tennessee Titans (6-3)
The Titans are allowing 26.1 points per game this season. They have allowed over 30 points five different times this season.

13.  Los Angeles Rams (6-3)
The Rams have been winning with defense. They rank second in total yards allowed and points allowed.

14. Cleveland Browns (6-3)
The Browns next two opponents  have a combined four wins on the season. A real good boost for a team looking to secure a playoff spot.

15. Las Vegas Raiders (6-3)
Jon Gruden has his team in a run for the playoffs in year three of his comeback. So much for him being out of touch and making bad trades.

16. Chicago Bears (5-5)
The Bears rank 31st in total yards and points scored. In other words, their offense is terrible.

17. San Francisco 49ers (4-6)
A few weeks ago the 49ers were at 4-3 and in a fight for the division lead. They now sit as the only spectators to that fight.

18. New England Patriots (4-5)   

Don’t look now, but the Patriots have reeled off two straight wins and a matchup versus the Texans on the horizon. Can they climb back into the playoff picture?

19. Minnesota Vikings (4-5)
Minnesota has won three in a row and their next two opponents have a combined five wins on the season.

20. Detroit Lions (4-5)
Detroit has been outscored by a total of 40 points on the season. They rank 29th in the league in points allowed.

21. Atlanta Falcons (3-6)
The Falcons entered their bye week on a two game win streak. They start the remainder of their season playing a Saints team with issues at the quarterback position.

22. Philadelphia Eagles (3-5-1)
Carson Wentz has 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions so far this season. They do average 5.1 yards per rush, but are near the bottom of the league in rushing attempts.

23. New York Giants (3-7)
The Giants are on a two game winning streak, with both wins coming against divisional opponents. They enter their bye week with a real chance to finish the season with the division lead.

24. Carolina Panthers (3-7)
The Panthers have extended their losing streak to five games. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater could miss the next game with a knee injury.

25. Denver Broncos (3-6)
The Broncos will face Miami, New Orleans and Kansas City in their next three contests. Not necessarily a cake walk of games.

26. Cincinnati Bengals (2-6-1)
The good news for Cincinnati is their next two opponents come from the NFC East.

27. Los Angeles Chargers (2-7)
Justin Herbert is averaging 291.6 passing yards a game, with 19 touchdowns passes and six interceptions. No matter how the season ends for the Chargers, the future is bright.

28. Houston Texans (2-7)
The Texans are near the bottom of the league in  rushing offense and at the bottom of the league in rushing defense.

29. Washington Football Team (2-7)
Washington is on a two game losing streak, but they’ve only been outscored by a total of six points on that span.

30. Dallas Cowboys (2-7)
The Cowboys come off their bye week to face the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Football Team.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8)
Jacksonville is securely planting themselves into the number two draft slot. With their recent play at quarterback, that’s probably a good slot to be in.

32. New York Jets (0-9)
The Jets have seven games remaining on their schedule. Is it seven games until they own the rights to draft Trevor Lawrence or seven games until they fire Adam Gase?
