Cavaliers trade Kyrie Irving to Boston

The Cleveland Cavaliers have sent disgruntled point guard Kyrie Iriving to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic and a 2018 first round draft pick (unprotected via Brooklyn Nets).

The Cavs have been looking for a trade partner since Irving demanded a trade back in July. Irving was Cleveland’s second leading scorer averaging just a shade under 26 points per game. Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics to the best record in the east last year. He averaged 28.9 points and 5.9 assists per game last season, both led the Celtics.

Irving has three years and $60 million dollars left on his max contract. He can opt out after the 2018-2019 season.
